Job Title
Military Analyst
PositionFull Time W2 in Northern VA (Multiple Positions (5))
Minimum/General ExperienceAnalyses Joint and Army policy, doctrine, and other guidance documents and determines the impact on Army Mission Command, Science & Technology, and Army modeling & simulation. In coordination with our Army customer, develops, drafts, staffs, and publishes policy and other guidance documents. Coordinates with and provides Army interface to Joint, Interagency, and Multi-National counterparts. Performs multi-faceted assignments requiring analysis and synthesis of complex systems and projects. Develops and evaluates various alternative that will meet requirements which are feasible, and cost effective. Advise client on processes, policies, procedures from an historical standpoint and current legislation in the joint area. Participates in technical interchanges with military, industry, and academic customers and colleagues. Applies background and experience to identify and solve current and/or future policy and guidance needs. Specifies and conducts project-related surveys and research. Leads or participates in working groups, program development forums, analytical activities, policy identification and review exercises and other forums required to accomplish contract requirements. Assists and advises Integrated Product Teams in development and implementation of Army policy and guidance business processes needs. Develops and prepares briefings and presentations for senior military and civilian officials and staff members. Assists in the planning and execution of conferences and meetings involving senior military and civilian officials. Maintains project files and records. Anticipates policy and guidance requirements and makes recommendations to the senior Army civilian on courses of action.
Functional ResponsibilityRequirements: Knowledge of Army and national defense requirements and apply that knowledge to the analysis.
Experience in Service and Joint C2. Experience in Service and Joint Operations.
Strong administrative and computing skills with emphasis on collaboration technologies and tools. Work flows, Internet browsers, and Microsoft Office tools including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Project.
Strong interpersonal and service oriented skills.
Excellent writing and editing skills, ability to communicate and interface with communities officials, government offices and senior officials and Army customers, prioritize and multi-task, attention to detail with follow through skills
Joint and/or Combatant Command background and ability to apply that knowledge.
Involvement in military studies and/or analysis of complex military systems or programs.
Desired Skills:
Experience working with Department of the Army and Department of Defense customers
Retired Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marine Corps Officer or Senior NCO with experience in developing, drafting, staffing, and reviewing service policies and other key guidance documents.
Experience in Department of Defense Science and Technology organizations at the department level.
Experience in developing and maintaining data bases.
Experience in major command HQ, Service HQ, Joint Staff or CINC staff desired. Combat experience.
Experience in Planning, Programming, and Budgeting activities and Integrated Products Teams.
Other Requirements:
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree. Additional experience may be substituted for education.
