Position Overview: The Corporate Account Director is responsible for customer engagement within assigned East Area GPO member accounts. The position is designed to develop and execute strategic solutions, GPO contract strategy, and implement access account plans. This individual will focus on supporting appropriate access at targeted community oncology provider networks, national oncology stakeholder groups, and assigned GPO member accounts. Market Access insights derived from customer interactions and cross-functional collaboration will be a cornerstone to leading the strategic oncology portfolio account planning and alignment with marketing and field sales.
Key Responsibilities: - Support the launch planning process for current and future products by developing product access strategies and tactics for targeted community oncology provider networks, national oncology stakeholder groups, and assigned GPO member accounts.
- Inform GPO contract strategy and implement contract launch initiatives in assigned GPO member accounts.
- Lead engagement with population health decision makers, pharmacy directors, account leadership and members of medical/P&T evaluation committees to effectively communicate clinical and economic rationale for PEC products, secure product formulary and EMR inclusion, as well as, appropriate treatment plan development in assigned GPO member accounts.
- Compliantly align strategies with other cross-functional operations (Sales, Medical, and Marketing) to support a combined customer engagement strategy, as well as, appropriate product access for our portfolio in assigned accounts.
- Lead the development of account level access strategy plans designed to ensure optimal access for products for assigned GPO member accounts.
- Identify competitive threats and develop response strategies to ensure optimal access for products.
- Assist in the identification, creation, and execution of opportunities, resources, programs and tactics developed in collaboration with national oncology stakeholder groups ie. COA, ACCC, NCODA, QCCA, etc.
Qualifications and Experience: Required - Bachelor's Degree and 8 Years' Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Channel Experience
- Minimum of 10 years in pharmaceutical sales or account management required, experience in institutional and/or IDN sales highly preferred
- Experience 2+ years in oncology, 2+ years previous experience in similar account management role
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Superior negotiation skills, business acumen, and analytical ability
- Understanding of pharmacy benefit vs buy and bill, in-office dispensing (IOD/MID), contracting, distribution/wholesaler channels, pricing structures, chargeback programs, oncology community-based practices, and Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs)
- Located near major airport
- Ability to travel ~60%
Preferred - Advanced degree (MBA, PharmD, etc.)
- Current/recent oncology experience in prior 2 years strongly preferred
- 10+ years Biotech/Pharma managed markets experience in Corporate Accounts, GPO or Sales Leadership roles
- Significant GPO experience and knowledge, including community oncology GPOs and community oncology provider networks
- Existing relationships with oncology GPO member accounts
- Experience reviewing clinical literature, including disease state information and target product profiles, to develop access strategies for national oncology stakeholder groups and GPO member engagement.
- Experience integrating Health Economics and Medical Affairs resources into access planning
