Job Summary:
The Direct-to-Consumer, Platform Distribution and Technology multi-disciplined communications team is seeking an experienced Disney Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), Platform Distribution (PD), and Technology are business units within Disney Entertainment that lead the company’s direct-to-consumer streaming brands (Disney+, Hulu, Hulu + Live TV and the Disney Bundle), as well as all third-party media sales efforts for distribution, affiliate-related business operations for all of the company's DTC services and linear media networks, and content sales agreements for Disney Entertainment and ESPN.
Our multi-disciplined communications team is seeking an experienced communications leader who will be an integral part of the team, working collaboratively to manage internal comms’ broad range of activities and day-to-day operations across both businesses.
The Senior Manager, Internal Communications primary responsibilities will include robust internal communications and employee engagement strategies and implementation. The role requires critical thinking; outstanding organization and planning; and a strong ability to collaborate and connect with internal, cross-functional teams and partners, including senior leaders. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding, flexible communicator who can work independently, has experience working with and providing counsel to executives, and enjoys collaborating on multiple projects in a fast-paced, global environment.
The day-to-day focus of the job is to work in partnership with the Vice President, DTC, Technology and PD Communications to create, lead and implement internal communications strategies, develop content and materials, drive employee engagement and culture-building activities. In addition to those core responsibilities, you will work collaboratively with communications, HR and Enterprise colleagues across multiple business segments.

Responsibilities
- Serves as a DTC, PD and Technology leader and authority to the broader Enterprise internal communications organization
- Develop, implement, and drive a robust internal communications strategy, vehicles, Town Halls/All Hands and other employee engagement events for Direct-to-Consumer, Platform Distribution and Technology.
- Provide guidance and expertise in planning communications vehicles and editorial content while designing strategies to increase employee connection and engagement – all while ensuring alignment with The Walt Disney Company messaging and tone.
- This role will lead through influence and collaboration across all levels as well as partner on special projects for the television, studio and corporate segments.
- Supervise the work of our Communications Coordinator in running internal employee events, driving editorial communications that educate and inspire, and forming relationships across the organization.
- Interact with executives to identify key goals and priorities, prepare various materials for communications to employees (email messages, scripts, talking points, etc.), and advise and guide them in their interactions.
- Develop creative content ideas and strategies while managing content for internal newsletters and other vehicles.
- Represent DTC, Technology and PD Communications Team for cross-company internal communication initiatives.
- Coordinate with collaborators from other segments to align messaging and timing of messages supporting company initiatives.
- Monitor trends and standard processes in internal communications to find opportunities to improve our business' communications vehicles and strategies.
- Seek out best practices from peers inside and outside the Company. Provide support for employee and corporate events and activations as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- At least 7 years' of validated experience in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing strategy and/or management.
- BA or BS degree required, preferably with a background in Communications, Writing, Marketing or other related field.
- Proficient in Word, PowerPoint/Keynote, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to build effective partnerships at all levels of the organization, including with senior executives.
- Shown to have the ability to work harmoniously and collaboratively with others across a matrixed organization. Highly professional demeanor and diplomatic skills.
- Organized and efficient with a proven ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, handle multiple demands, think strategically, and solve problems.
- Demonstrate analytical processing, critical-thinking, decision-making, problem-solving and follow-through skills.
- Flexible, responsive while able to assess and refine strategies and tactics to better align with changing business strategies.
- Excellent writing, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with maturity and confidence in working with colleagues including executives.
- Ability to motivate a team and influence others to move toward a common vision or goal.
- Ability to effectively deliver presentations and clearly articulate messages while adapting tone/style to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to take direction from multiple stakeholders, synthesize information, prioritize deadlines, and effectively work through challenges in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive demeanor, personable and approachable, self-motivated.
- Excellent grammar skills with copy editing / proofreading experience preferred. Writing samples of articles and/or other internal communications projects that demonstrates skills, creativity, and mastery of grammar rules.
- Self-starter who is versed in working independently.
- Ability to handle confidential information.

- Proficiency with web, photo, and other multimedia software (such as WordPress, etc.)
The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $131,700.00-$181,000.00 per year based on a 40 hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
