Job description
The Section of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at Maine Medical Center is seeking an experienced BC/BE Vascular Fellowship or Residency-trained Vascular Surgeon to join their well-established practice of 8 vascular surgeons located in Portland, Maine. Seeking someone with over 5 years of surgical experience and/or is comfortable with complex aortic and peripheral arterial pathology. The group provides comprehensive, state-of-the-art, tertiary vascular care for Maine's over 1.2 million people.
Maine Medical Center (MMC) has 700 licensed beds, is the state's leading tertiary care hospital, with a full complement of residencies and fellowships, and is an integral part of Tufts University Medical School. MMC currently supports over 240 residents and fellows in 16 residencies and 11 fellowships approved by the ACGME, including a Vascular Surgery residency and General Surgery residency. The selected candidate will have an academic appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine. The position involves teaching and mentoring both Vascular Surgery integrated residents, General Surgery residents and Tufts medical students.
An academic background is preferred, and research opportunities are available through the Center for Outcomes Research and Evaluation, the CORE program at Maine Medical Center Research Institute, and through our participation as a founding member of the Vascular Study Group of New England and Vascular Quality Initiative.
