Stellar Solutions is seeking an Operational Planner. This role provides a unique opportunity to provide joint planning support to the customer. The successful candidate will support a high-performing team of government and contractor professionals to monitor, analyze, coordinate and deliver operations across various assets in support of the Space Warfighting Mission. The candidate will be pivotal in supporting coordinated activities across multiple government agencies and ensuring the safety and success of the efforts. The successful candidate will have experience with space operations planning, the Joint Planning Process, multi-domain operations, and the Space Warfighting mission. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated the ability to operate in a dynamic and high energy environment with constantly changing tasks and priorities.

Successful applicant will provide Operational Planning and advisory support in a dynamic, high-paced environment while guiding rapid evolution of planning projects and doctrine through demonstration and Government review and evaluation. The candidate may be charged with generating products and deliverables, which may further require the coordination of government approvals to meet DoD warfighter needs. The ideal candidate will have a mastery of the Joint Planning Process, Joint Operations, and United States Government organizations supporting national and space security.

• Prepare, Plan and Integrate operational planning and strategy activities into customer plans, exercises, training and operations
• Support the development of planning detail one through four
• Integrate into the joint planning cycle supporting customer interests and needs
• Provide Operational Planning subject matter expertise to outside organizations in support of planning coordination and deconfliction
• Support the development, deployment and execution of plans and operations orders and associated attachments (Annexes, appendices, tabs, etc.)
• Prepare various reports, presentations and documentation as needed
• Formulate space operations policies and route for coordination
• Plan, organize and direct space operations planning programs
• Works under minimal supervision to set objectives for work environment
• Communicates with contacts inside and outside own team to explain and interpret operational processes, best practices, doctrine and procedures

Work will be primarily conducted at in Springfield, VA at the customer site, with potential for travel within the United States and potentially overseas to support program execution activities.

Required Qualifications and Skillsets:

• Expert knowledge of Joint Planning processes
• Requires U.S. Citizenship AND current TS/SCI Clearance with CI poly
• 2+ years’ experience in a General Officer/Flag Officer G/J/N-5 (Plans Directorate)
• Completion of O-4 level joint professional military education
• Requires practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience or Graduate Degree or equivalent with 6 years of prior related experience

Preferred Desired Skillsets:

Graduate of one of the following schools:

• Maritime Advanced Warfighting School or;
• School of Advanced Military Studies or;
• Joint Advanced Warfighting School or;
• School of Advanced Warfighting

Familiar with:

• Space operations/Satellite Operations
• DoD/IC space systems
• Basic orbital mechanics

Deliverables will be in the format of reports, briefings, spreadsheets, or other products as directed by the customer, using government approved, issued, and/or mandated systems & software, and processes in compliance with government policies and instructions. The nature of this work will, at times, require a quick response to stringent deadlines and will always require a standard of high quality and professional deliverables.
