Job description
Georgia HOPE Social Services Therapist/Assessor Contractor collaborates with the Department of Family and Child Services to provide therapy and assessment services for foster children and their biological parents.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individual, group, and family counseling to children, adolescents and/or adults in assigned region/counties.
- Document case notes in online electronic medical record system (Ecase).
- Attend agency training, as needed
- Case load based on contractor
- Assist families who are involved with DFCS (Dept. of Family and Children Services) in building parental capacity and/or work towards reunification through parent skills training and linkage to community resources
- Collaborate with case managers, other contractors and community partners to ensure effective treatment and case collaboration
- Contribute to Georgia HOPE's culture of safety and inclusion by demonstrating a commitment to learning how to engage with issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Education and Experience:
- Master's degree in either counseling, psychology, social work, marriage and family therapy, or similar field and eligible for provisional/clinical license OR in possession of provisional or clinical licensed Counselors applying must have one of the following licenses: An LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LAPC, LMSW, or LAMFT. Or a master’s level counselor who is eligible to obtain a license.
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with using the internet and Microsoft Word
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently
- Ability to function as a member for a multi-disciplinary treatment team and work cooperatively with other agency providers
- Ability to conduct oneself professionally and ethically with clients, co-providers and community partners
