Job description

As a Claims Intern , you will gain an understanding of our Claim Operation  as well as how to deal with clients during a disaster, organize disaster responses , develop an understanding of insurance coverages . You will build valuable skills while working with a fast-paced team and developing time management and organizational strategies.

• Designing, conducting, and reporting the AP Claim Structure .  
• Assist in the review and analysis the Claim Response utilizing project management skills through the suite of Microsoft products and smart sheets .  
• Utilize company metrics to improve operational efficiencies.  
• Assist in updating pieces of AP Business Continuity Plan .  
• Work on Claim Presentations for Senior Leadership and internal claim usage .  
• Utilize organizational skills to gain efficiencies throughout the AP Claim Team  
• Understand and assist in the onboarding new acquisition claim teams.  

• The Internship Program will be running from May 29, 2024 - August 2, 2024
• The position is onsite 5 days per week throughout the internship program in the Wilkes Barre, PA office
• An amazing opportunity to work closely with a mentor and create connections in the insurance industry

• Must be enrolled in post-secondary education, ideally in a degree program concentrating in Business, Loss Control, Marketing  
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common business documents, and a high capacity for learning is critical.  
• Effectively utilize available and relevant technical tools and resources ( e.g. Microsoft Office and Excel).
