Job description

Using the S&OP driven forecast and plans, the Master Scheduler establishes manufacturing schedules that balance production levels with demand to support targets consistent with customer delivery schedules, departmental/company goals, and capacity utilization for assigned resources.

Primary 65%

• • Collaborates with Purchasing as needed to ensure material availability related to master schedule.
  • Compares current and forecasted demand with available capacity; uses judgement to anticipate and alert of any foreseeable constraints.
  • Actively resolve product issues related to or impacting schedule adherence.
  • Schedules and releases production orders for assigned resources in accordance with the established deadlines.
  • Engages in schedule scenario planning for future production demands.

Secondary 20%

• • Assist in maintenance of master production schedule for assigned facilities; revises as needed and alerts appropriate staff of schedule changes or delays.
  • Serve as point of contact for technical questions regarding problems with the build sequence, paperwork discrepancies, capacity concerns, material availability, and other constraints; providing support and problem fixing assistance to resolve production issues. Escalating to Master Scheduler or leadership as needed.
  • Support scheduling team when resolving issues of rush request, order changes, and other scheduling disruptions.
  • Analyzes options for continuing production when encountering unplanned disruptions.
  • Work with Production Scheduling Supervisor to execute and implement process improvements.

Other 15%

• • Schedule production for additional resources across the organization as required.
  • Assist scheduling team in breaking down internal and external constraints.
  • Compiles system generated reports as defined by departmental procedures and objectives.
  • Training of new and existing team members.
  • Engages in contingency planning and risk mitigation by understanding internal and external forces on production.

o BA/BS in related field preferred

o 2 years of Scheduling/Planning experience in a manufacturing environment

o Experience with Microsoft Office
