Job description
Position Overview: The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for managing and overseeing electrical projects from pre-construction to close-out. This position requires superior technical expertise and knowledge of electrical contracting, commercial and industrial construction, electrical systems, MEPs, and NEC codes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of electrical projects, including pre-construction, budgeting, cash flow management, scheduling, change orders and buyouts, quality assurance, pre-job planning, customer service, permit acquisition, OSHA-mandated requirements, licensing, inspection coordination, close-outs, as-built drawings, operations manuals, contract review, troubleshooting, problem-solving, decision making, and communication.
- Ensure that all electrical projects are completed according to industry standards, approved budgets, and timelines.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all applicable regulations and industry standards.
- Create comprehensive project plans and ensure that all necessary materials and resources are secured.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful completion.
- Provide technical guidance and training to team members as needed.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure that all projects are completed with minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates to the project team and management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in electrical project management.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems and applicable codes (NEC).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Accubid, and Spectrum.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Experience with project budgeting, cash flow management, scheduling, and change orders.
