The EdTech Specialist empowers students in grades 1-4 to be curious, creative, and critical thinkers, respectful digital citizens and informed consumers of technology. The EdTech Specialist also supports the work of The Summit’s Exploratorium (Makerspace). The Summit Country Day School is seeking someone with a passion for technology, digital citizenry, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Manages, develops, and delivers creative technology instruction.
- Lessons incorporate social skills, digital citizenry, and instruction on essential educational technology tools.
- Provide educational technology resources that will meet the informational, research, educational, and recreational needs of students and faculty.
- Monitors student progress and assists students in mastering the stated educational technology standards (ISTE).
- Provides access to creative technology such as 3-D printers, coding, and robotics. Utilizes hands-on learning and collaboration in support of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematic) content and resources.
- Assists in the promotion of technology services through tours, outreach, demonstrations and displays.
- Performs other duties as assigned, including proportional lunch and/or recess supervisory duties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Master’s Degree in Educational Technology or related field preferred.
- Ohio Department of Education certification preferred.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of best practices for lower school/early childhood technology education.
- Demonstrate a passion for driving student learning and success.
- Experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Proficient in Type 2 Learn, Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook), Google Classroom, Code.org, Scratch, 3-D Printing and QR codes.
- Frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling. Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
