Summer Golf Course Intern
Country Club in York, Pennsylvania is looking for a Summer Golf Course Intern.
Position Overview:
This position will give the student all the exposure they will need to become a successful Assistant Superintendent and ultimately to become a Golf Course Superintendent. The intern will report directly to the Green and Grounds Superintendent and Assistant Golf Course Superintendents. This person will aid in the direction and participation in maintaining the golf course greens, tees, fairways, and surrounding property as well as being exposed to all aspects of maintaining the golf course from course setup, pesticide applications, water management to managing small crews. You will also be exposed to golf course construction processes in regards to executing the country club of york’s master plan developed by Golf Course Architect Andrew Green.
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a 2 to 4 year degree, or certificate program in turf management, or related field at an accredited university
Seeking a dedicated and motivated individual with the desire to gain as much experience in golf course maintenance industry.
Passion for the turf industry, needs to have positive attitude, a strong desire to learn and to be a team player within the agronomy staff and clubhouse staff.
Compensation:
$17.00 – $18.00 per hour.
