The Serco Military Internship Program is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29. The SkillBridge program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Serco’s SkillBridge Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Serco, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members .

Goals - Provide assistance to veterans and transitioning service members in finding employment. 

 

Objectives -Capture qualified candidates and assist with job placement for veteans and military spouses.

Outcome - Offer transitioning and tranistioned service members a rewarding opportunity to join the Serco-NA team.

• Manage projects to expand Serco’s participation supporting Navy research and development efforts by anticipating and meeting customer needs.
• Direct the tactical activities of the program including, but not limited to, engineering, finance, and operations with the objective of maximizing growth and profitability. Seek to build project revenue by remaining alert to new business opportunities or expansion of business with the customer and advising senior operations management.
• Under guidance of Serco policy, operate sound, responsive and accurate financial management and reporting systems, budgeting and financial analysis, and responsive systems that satisfy the obligations of the program to its customers, as well as legal and regulatory compliance.
• Review status of projects and budgets.
• Manage schedules and prepares status reports.
• Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress, and for intervening and problem solving with Serco and customer management to meet productivity, quality, and customer-satisfaction goals and objectives.
• Interact with Navy representatives, including Navy management levels, concerning project operations or scheduling.
• Participate in briefings and technical meetings with company and Navy representatives concerning project operations.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules. Erroneous decisions or recommendations, or failure to complete assignments normally result in delays to project schedules and allocation of more resources.
• Ensure adherence to Serco administrative policies and procedures, human resource policies and practices as applicable, and contracts administration procedures that support the programs of Serco and ensure that the contract is administered to protect Serco’s interest and comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Direct efforts to improve the quality and efficiency of the Serco Panama City team through training and development programs in both technical and scientific disciplines.
• Has business development and budgetary responsibilities.

The Successful candidate will be immersed in the government contracting environment by attending management/business meetings, experience in consulting directly with military customers, and project management from inception to completion.

Serco utilizes the DoD guidance for SkillBridge. During this program the service member will be performing an individual internship. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.
