The Instructional Assistant will work in the Culinary Arts and Baking Program at Maple Street Correctional Center in Redwood City. This individual will perform duties related to the day-to-day operations of a teaching kitchen which include supporting students; preparation of supplies, material, and equipment; upkeep of facilities and equipment; assistance in food production; demonstration of cooking skills, storekeeping functions; and proper and safe use of equipment.
This full-time, benefitted 30/week position is for an energetic individual with excellent communication and organizational skills to assist in performing Culinary Instruction in a correctional setting. The candidate will be assisting the instructor with instruction and training and prepare students for entry level employment in the culinary, baking, and/or hospitality field.
The Instructional Assistant assembles and puts away materials, supplies and equipment used in demonstrations and classroom assignments; operates and maintains the kitchen, pantry, office, and classroom; assists students and chef with instructional activities; and organize, receive, and stores food and supplies.
Reports to Maple Street In-Custody and Re-entry Manager and Maple Street Chef Instructor.

The anticipated hiring range is $25.50 – 30.00/hour.
