Qualifications:
- 4-6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong comprehension and communication skills.
- Proficient in mathematical concepts and reasoning ability.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and specifications for material and machining plans.
- Set up and operate machine tools to produce precision parts.
- Measure and verify dimensions using various tools.
- Assemble and fit parts into complete units or mechanisms.
- Recommend design modifications for tools and fixtures.
- Set up and operate various machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, jig, and surface grinders, ensuring precision in machining parts according to specifications.
- Lift and position machined parts onto surfaces for further assembly using hoists, forklifts, or cranes.
- Utilize power grinders to smooth both flat and contoured surfaces, contributing to the final quality of components.
- Fit and assemble parts into cohesive units or mechanisms, ensuring seamless integration of components.
- Examine standard or previously used dies, tools, jigs, and fixtures, providing recommendations for design modifications to enhance construction and functionality.
- Develop specifications for specialty tools based on general descriptions, creating detailed drawings or sketches for product design.
