Job description

This position provides technical application support for complex Epic applications, analyzing, evaluating, and troubleshooting and provides high level analysis of multiple applications and/or highly complex applications. The analyst understands and translates the business functionality into the Epic systems configuration and workflow. This team member plans and prepares Cadence test scripts for application testing, integration testing and user acceptance testing.

Provides Cadence application and technical support for the product line in addition to providing triage and troubleshooting to the product customers. Monitors the systems for data quality, efficiency, operation, and data integrity and appropriately escalates issues/problems. This role provides system analysis, design, development, documentation, and configuration as well as testing and training of the product. The Epic Cadence Applications Analyst provides standardization direction for the product aligning the application version and workflow with current standards.

Under limited supervision, gathers and analyzes user needs for developing and modifying applications in the healthcare environment. Analyzes complex results, proposes solutions and/or recommendations in addition to building, configuring and/or modifying applications using existing application tools. The role also provides complex application support, writes documentation and specifications.

The Epic Cadence Applications Analyst is responsible for achieving in-depth knowledge of Epic System’s Cadence software and serves as a liaison between end users and Epic implementation staff. Conducts regular day-to-day communication with Epic’s installation team, reviews the software, analyzes business operations, and works with Epic vendor, project team(s), business representatives, subject matter experts, and end users to tailor the system to fit the organization’s needs. The Analyst routinely performs in-depth analyses of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues and is responsible for developing and documenting the internal procedures that are used in conjunction with Epic applications, and designs, builds, tests, installs and maintains those solutions.

Bachelor’s Degree in a health, science, or business field, or an equivalent level of professional relevant experience required.

Four years industry related experience in a IS/Clinical setting (Healthcare/Health Services, Information Services) or within applicable area in healthcare operations, with a minimum 3 years progressively responsible experience in information applications, including performing programming or applications analysis, or equivalent. Thorough understanding of hospital inpatient, clinic outpatient operations, and/or financial software (Patient Access) along with understanding the technical environment of product lines for which they are responsible.
Two or more years of experience working on Epic Cadence/Prelude and configuration with success taking Cadence/Prelude from build to ‘go live’ are highly desirable.
