The Arkansas Department of Parks, Heritage and Tourism has three major divisions: Arkansas State Parks, Arkansas Heritage and Arkansas Tourism. Arkansas State Parks manages 52 state parks and promotes Arkansas as a tourist destination for people around the country. Arkansas Heritage preserves and promotes Arkansas’s natural and cultural history and heritage through four historic museums and four cultural preservation agencies. Arkansas Tourism improves the state’s economy by generating travel and enhancing the image of the state. Position Information Class Code: S014C Grade: GS06 FLSA Status: EXEMPT Salary Range: $36,155.00 - $52,425.00SummaryThe Restaurant Manager is responsible for the overall management of a park food service facility. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy.FunctionsProvides daily supervision of skilled and unskilled food service workers, oversees food quality, and ensures customer service standards are met. Inspects facility for cleanliness, safety, and maintenance needs, and coordinates requests for repairs. Establishes and justifies the restaurant budget, authorizes expenditures, monitors spending, and maintains proper food and labor cost. Conducts menu planning, assists in the preparation of food orders, and oversees temperature control, portion control, presentation, and food rotation. Manages inventory by checking on storage procedures, rotating supplies, and altering menu to cut down on food waste. Meets with special groups or other departments to coordinate special activities or accommodations, handles customer complaints, and offers special assistance. Performs other duties as assigned.DimensionsNoneKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of food service techniques, procedures, and safety concerns. Applicant will also maintain food inventory ledger, monitor food costs, and prepare monthly/yearly reports and menus. Additional duties include facility maintenance, developing good customer relations, and planning for special occasion activities. Must be able to work a varied schedule, including weekends, holidays, and some evenings. A criminal background check is required.
