Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chief Operating Officer ( COO ) who can seamlessly blend hands-on operational involvement with a strategic approach. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a deep understanding of the sports and events industry, exceptional operational expertise, and a proven track record in managing complex facilities.

Responsibilities:

- Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction while being actively involved in the day-to-day operations of the facility, ensuring a hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making.

- Financial Management: Collaborate with the executive team to develop and manage budgets, optimize revenue streams, and identify opportunities for cost efficiencies.

- Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a diverse team of department heads, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.

- Guest Experience: Drive initiatives to enhance guest experience, maintain high standards of service, and implement innovative strategies to attract and retain visitors.

- Facility Maintenance: Oversee facility maintenance, including adherence to safety standards, maintenance schedules, and capital improvement projects.

- Event Operations: Ensure flawless execution of events by coordinating with event organizers, managing logistics, and overseeing event-specific operations.

- Strategic Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of long-term strategic plans, aligning operational goals with the company’s vision and objectives.

Requirements

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, or a related field; MBA or equivalent preferred.

- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in operations, preferably within the sports or entertainment industry.

- Proven track record of successful facility management, including financial oversight and team leadership.

- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities coupled with a hands-on approach to operational challenges.

- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
