Job Title : Automation Specialist

Job Description : Eastern Industrial Automation (Industrial Distributor) is seeking an experienced and self-motivated Automation Specialist to join our fast growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions that improve customer machine designs and increase manufacturing efficiency. The Automation Specialist will work closely with our sales teams to identify opportunities for automation and develop solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities :

• Design, develop, and implement automation solutions that improve customer machine designs and increase manufacturing efficiency.
• Work closely with sales teams to identify opportunities for automation and develop solutions that meet customer needs.
• Develop and maintain documentation for all automation solutions.
• Provide training and support to sales team and end-users on automation solutions and products.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in automation.

Requirements :

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in automation development.
• Strong knowledge of automation tools, products, and technologies.
• Previous experience working with variable frequency drives, servo/stepper motors, motion controllers, sensors, PLCs, machine safety, various electrical distribution products, actuators, etc
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Location : Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey

The position is 40 hours a week; Monday through Friday, 8AM – 5PM and will report directly to the Automation Division Manager.  An automobile will be provided along with technology tools (laptop, iPhone). Expected travel throughout the North East is 50-60% with occasional overnight stays.
