Job description
SUMMARY:
This Quality Engineering position has direct responsibility for supporting strategies, plans and goals for interfacing with the Research and Development Organization in defining Key Product Characteristics and Controls, DFMEA and PFMEA applications and Conveying quality and value added improvements to design department and Implementation of “Lessons Learned” from Supplier Quality, Manufacturing and Service. In addition, this individual will lead Quality Coordination in the implementation of new Product Quality Planning involved in such activities as; Quality Gates / Reviews, product validation, Engineering Change application, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONISIBILTIES:
- Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Responsible to generate, distribute and follow-up on all applicable customer submittals.
- Responsible to coordinate any applicable process issues that pertain to rubber compounds adhesive coating, molding, etc.,
- to ensure they are effectively resolved and that results are communicated to other departments.
- Responsible to act as liaison with Elastmetall on any and all applicable processing issues as specified above.
- Coordinate the development, implementation and training in procedure and work instructions pertaining to Quality
- Assurance inspection, measurement and testing for applicable product lines.
- Support Quality readiness, implementation and flawless launch of New Projects.
- Understanding of ISO audit procedures and ability to implement procedures for compliance.
- May include travel – domestic and/or international (5%)
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associates Degree in Engineering minimum required
- 3 years minimum, Quality Engineer experience
- Ability to build a good working relationship with suppliers, manufacturing, and product engineers
- Candidate must possess skills with the use of EXCEL, PowerPoint or similar products
- Proven successful track record in leadership roles
- Experience with rubber or plastic molding a plus
- TS Certified Lead Auditor a plus
- Knowledge, Skills & Competencies
- Experience in Automotive OEM or suppliers
- Familiar with 8D problem resolution
- Ability to perform PPAP
- Familiar with PFMEAs, Process Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, APQP and other quality documents.
- Demonstrated capability in identifying Best Practices and leadership in successfully implementing these
- Exposure to Value Engineering, Lean Systems thinker, Change agent
- Must be willing to work in a results based, fast paced environment, with minimal supervision
- Communication and Interpersonal –effective facilitation skills and demonstrates high energy
- Execution – persistent drive for results utilizing sound project management, organizational and problem solving skills
