At Thrive Pet Healthcare Decatur, we offer primary care services for cats and dogs in Decatur, Midtown, Buford, Marietta, Woodstock, and Alpharetta, GA. We provide wellness and preventative care, surgery, vaccines, and diagnostic testing. 

At Thrive Pet Healthcare Decatur, we're here to help your pets thrive! We provide services 6 days a week, allowing flexibility and convenience for our clients. We also are here to help assist your pets that need urgent medical attention for non-critical conditions.

Thrive Pet Healthcare - Decatur is looking for a Lead Veterinary Technician to join us as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Lead Veterinary Technician to oversee the daily operations of our hospital.  

As a Lead Veterinary Technician you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing end-to-end care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients.  

Role Responsibilities: 

• Daily Hospital Operations: Efficiently handles the daily flow of the hospital, ensuring smooth 
  operations throughout the client experience, and maintaining appointment flow.
• Scheduling: Manages staff schedules and optimize patient load to ensure productivity 
• Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control and ordering to maintain adequate supplies. 
• Staff Training and Coaching: Provide training for new hires, continuing education for current staff, and offer ongoing coaching and support. 
• OSHA and Inventory Logs: Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain accurate 
  records.  Maintain inventory and controlled substance logs in regulation with the DEA and Thrive’s Controlled Substance Policy. 
• End-of-Day Tasks: Verify completion of both financial and hospital end-of-day tasks to maintain a well-organized facility. 
• Staff Meetings: Conduct and lead monthly staff meetings to facilitate communication and 
  collaboration. 
• Collaboration with the Practice Manager: Work closely with the Practice Manager to address 
  staff-related issues and hospital needs. 
• Corrective Actions: Collaborate on employee corrective actions when needed and implement 
  strategies for improvement. 
• Veterinarian Collaboration: Work closely with the veterinarian to address patient load and 
  appropriate staffing to ensure quality care and productivity. 
• Marketing Events and Strategies: Collaborate with the Practice Manager on marketing events and strategies to promote the hospital to the community. 

• Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or equivalent qualification 
• Proven experience in a veterinary hospital setting
• Strong organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities 
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and inventory management 
• Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, staff, and community
