Job description

Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate

Positions may begin as soon as January 2024. A Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computational Science and Engineering, or a related area is required. The positions will involve developing models and algorithms for the combustion of zero-carbon (hydrogen/ammonia) and carbon-neutral (Sustainable Aviation Fuels) fuels in turbulent flows, building upon the research group's efforts in generalized manifold-based combustion models. For aviation fuels, modeling of multi-phase flow will also be required. The researchers will interact with graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in the research group. Previous experience in computational modeling of turbulent reacting flows or turbulent multi-phase flows and parallel computing/software development is strongly desired. Appointments are for one year, renewable annually, based on satisfactory performance and available funding. Appointments are subject to the University's background check policy. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
