Job description
Senior Accountant
MedPro is looking for a strong Senior accountant to oversee general accounting operations by organizing, reconciling, and verifying our financial transactions.

You will be successful in this role if you can think strategically but also jump into the details to get things done. The ideal candidate will have up to 7 years of corporate accounting experience with a high proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

What You Will Do
- Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
- Verify and perform reconciliations of Balance sheet and key expense accounts
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
- Spot errors and suggest ways to improve efficiency and spending
- Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures
- Manage and organize tasks among staff
- Provide input into department’s goal setting process
- Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
- Assist with sales tax issues
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Develop and document accounting policies and procedures to create efficiencies
- Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
- Liaise with our Controller and Director of Finance to improve financial reporting/procedures
What You Need
- BS degree in Accounting or Finance
- Prior experience in a supervisory role is a plus
- 3-5 years experience in an accounting role
- Highly organized'; thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Hands-on experience with accounting software packages
- Advanced MS Excel skills including different types of look-ups, index and match functions, pivot tables, macros
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
