Adult Mental Health Support Services Counselor

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4:00 pm - 12:30 am

$2,000 Sign-on Bonus

Join our dynamic team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges. As an Adult Mental Health Support Services Counselor, you will play a crucial role in supporting the seriously mentally ill, those with substance use disorders, and emotionally impaired individuals in a residential setting. Your responsibilities will include maintaining community placement, facilitating substance use disorder recovery, and promoting independent living skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct needs assessments to identify individual strengths and challenges
• Provide independent living skills training to enhance self-sufficiency
• Advocate for clients' rights and preferences within the community
• Offer crisis intervention support during challenging situations
• Organize and facilitate recreational and leisure activities to promote well-being
• Provide supportive counseling to individuals in need
• Monitor and document client progress, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field
• Must be registered with the Board of Counseling to practice as QMHP-A
• Relevant experience in mental health support services
• Knowledge of and experience with substance use disorders
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
• Compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting individuals in need

Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services (such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling) and at least one (1) year of experience providing behavioral health services to adults with serious mental illness or emotional impairment. Must be registered with the Board of Counseling to practice as QMHP-A.

Current H-NNCSB employees are not eligible for the Sign-on Bonus.

The selected candidate must successfully pass a criminal history fingerprint background investigation, DMV record check, Child Registry search, drug screening test and employment reference checks.
