We are seeking a Case Aide (Social Service Assistant) to join our Office of Child Welfare team located in the beautiful Bend, OR!

One year of experience assisting professionals in one or more specialized social programs such as family services, children services, senior services, mental or developmental disability services, substance abuse programs, juvenile corrections programs or occupational skills programs, or;
Possession of a current certification in child development, early childhood education, addiction counseling preparation or juvenile corrections, or;
45 quarter hours, or 30 semester hours of college course work in sociology, psychology, early childhood education, criminal justice, human services, juvenile corrections, or occupational skills training, or;
An associate degree in a field not closely related to social work/human services and six months of human services-related experience (e.g. work providing assistance to individuals and groups with issues such as economically disadvantaged, employment, abuse and neglect, substance abuse, aging, mental or physical disabilities, juvenile prevention, health, cultural competencies, and/or inadequate housing).
Essential attributes
We are looking for candidates with:
Experience communicating effectively with the public, service providers, and clients in person, over the telephone and in writing, respecting cultural and ethnic differences.
Demonstrated ability to gather documents from multiple (and sometimes unwilling) sources and to organize such documents and notes into a case file and prepare clear and concise reports using computer.
Experience utilizing time management, organization, and prioritization skills to meet deadlines.
Experience working with at risk or other high need youth and diverse populations.
Demonstrated experience with positive de-escalation, conflict, and behavioral management skills with basic knowledge of trauma-informed practice.
Experience using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

that will support children and young adults to be safer, healthier, experience less trauma and achieve a greater well-being.As an SSA, you will:
Support caseworkers in a variety of ways, such as transporting children, supervising family time, conducting research and providing written summaries of information pertaining to a case.
Assists with transportation as necessary.
Helping arrange family time.
Assist in foster care placement and BRS placement coordination.
Provides visitation supervision coverage, primarily around initial visitation between children and their parents after placement of children in substitute care.
Assisting with travel arrangements and accommodations for families as needed.
Providing emotional support to children who are experiencing/have experienced trauma.
Helping family members complete forms correctly.
Letting family members know about available services and resources, scheduled family time, and court hearings as appropriate.
Performing administrative functions like coordinating background checks including OJIN, eCourts, LEDS, completing records requests, inputting data, and processing paperwork.
Assigning incoming screening reports throughout the district utilizing and updating spreadsheets under strict time constraints.
Working conditions
Work is conducted in the office, field and community.
This work requires a valid Driver’s license and the ability to drive during your scheduled work hours.
This position requires working a flexible schedule as a condition of employment with a normal workday of 8 hours, from 8 AM to 5 PM; however, working hours may be adjusted within a given week.
You will interact with a wide range of people including some who have experienced trauma and may exhibit challenges in controlling their emotions.
Occasional compensated overtime during evening and weekend work may be required.
Requires ability to use computer technology, including a working knowledge of Outlook, Microsoft Word and OR-Kids.
