POSITION SUMMARY:
The Full-Time Wine & Food Educator is a cornerstone role at Sequoia Grove Winery, dedicated to engaging and educating visitors, driving sales, and enhancing our high-end wine and food experiences. This role demands a dynamic, knowledgeable individual capable of hosting a variety of premium experiences, from intimate tastings to grand gatherings. The ideal candidate possesses a passion and understanding of wine and food, delivers service with an exceptional approach, and excels in building rapport and closing sales with professionalism and courtesy.
COMPENSATION:
Our competitive base salary is complemented by a rewarding wine club bonus, commissions, and tips, reflecting the value we place on talent that contributes significantly to our success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Welcome all guests with warmth and professionalism, seamlessly hosting in both our Tasting Room and Cambium Room settings. Maintain flexibility and willingness to guide guests through all our tasting experiences depending on business needs.
• Provide memorable and educational experiences.
• Utilize extensive wine and food knowledge to meet and exceed the needs and desires of each guest.
• Foster a positive brand image by delivering consistent, exceptional guest experiences across all touchpoints.
• Skillfully recommend wines and products, confidently closing sales.
• Enroll new members in the Sequoia Grove wine club, highlighting the features and benefits.
• Efficiently handle transactions using the Commerce7 POS system, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations.
• Lead private tastings, tours, large group events and after-hours gatherings, showcasing a high level of expertise in wine and food pairings.
• Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation within all guest areas.
• Acquire and keep up-to-date knowledge of Sequoia Grove Winery, our wines, Napa Valley’s rich history, and the intricacies of wine and food pairing.
• Participate in inventory management, event setup, execution, and breakdown, always with a focus on delivering a high-end experience.

• Flexibility in scheduling, including the ability to work weekends, holidays, and special events as required.
