Job description

Old Mission Peninsula School is searching for a Preschool Support Person who will be responsible for assisting in the education & enrichment of preschool students.

Reports To : Pre-School Director & School Principal

Responsibilities - Under Direction of the Program Director:

-Foster a positive and caring teaching and learning atmosphere with coworkers and children

-Assist lead teachers in implementation of lessons

-Assist in helping to monitor and note development milestones for each child

-Clean as needed throughout the day to maintain a sanitary environment for the children

-Stay current with best practices in early childhood education and incorporating them into the classroom

-Meet the individual needs of each child

-Assist the Lead/Co Teachers as needed

-Complete all required paperwork, training and record keeping on a timely basis and maintains the same in an organized, up-to-date manner. 

Qualifications:

-Complete 16 hours of professional development annually on topics relevant to job responsibilities such as Child Development and Learning, Health, Safety and Nutrition, Family and Community Collaboration, Teaching and Learning, Observation, Documentation and Assessment, and Interactions and 

Guidance Required:

• Criminal background check including fingerprinting required
• Unprofessional Conduct Check from current/most recent employer

Preschool Required (in addition to above):

• Additional background check
• TB Test
• 8 hours online training (paid by school)
• Additional onsite training & documentation
