Job description

Monument Chemical Bayport is seeking qualified candidates to fill our Research and Development Intern position for Summer 2024.

Local Interns are responsible for funding and handling their housing arrangements.

DESCRIPTION Provide technical support assistance to Engineers while meeting company safety, environment, and economic guidelines. Candidate must be working towards a bachelor's or master's degree.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Perform routine engineering calculations. Collect, analyze and interpret detailed unit operations data to troubleshoot and optimize operating issues. Issue recommendations regarding safety, health and environmental issues that impact operations and personnel. Interpret instructions and apply learned engineering principles on assignments, complex features, and possible solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have completed junior level chemical engineering or chemistry classes
• Must have excellent verbal/written/interpersonal communication skills
• Strong PC skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office products
• Must have lawful unlimited authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
• Eligible to obtain a TWIC card
• Minimum 3.0 GPA, required
• Interns are responsible to secure their own housing arrangements
