Job description

CoStaff Services offers an array of professional business services to small and mid-sized companies allowing them to focus on their core business. CoStaff Services specializes in Payroll and Tax Administration, Outsourced Human Resource Management, Benefits Administration, Government Compliance, Risk Management and Safety, Health Care Reform and much more. Our service models include Professional Employer Organization (PEO), Human Resource Outsourcing (HRO), and a licensed Health Insurance Agency. CoStaff is looking for a Controller to join our company as we continue to emerge as a market leader in our growing industry.

The Controller is responsible for performing accounting related activities, including financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, and compliance with accounting standards and regulations. They play a pivotal role in providing accurate and timely financial information to support informed decision-making by senior management.

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  1. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
    • Present financial reports to senior management.
  1. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Develop and manage the organization's budget.
    • Monitor and analyze financial performance against budget.
    • Provide financial forecasts and insights to support strategic planning.
  1. Accounting and Compliance:
    • Oversee the organization's accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations, such as Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
    • Manage the year-end audit process and coordinate with external auditors.
  1. Internal Controls:
    • Establish and maintain internal financial controls and policies to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
    • Identify and address control deficiencies.
  1. Tax Compliance:
    • Manage tax reporting and compliance.
    • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
    • Stay current with tax regulations and provide strategic tax planning.
  1. Cash Management:
    • Daily cash management and funding.
    • Oversee cash flow and liquidity management to ensure the organization's financial stability.
  1. Financial Analysis:
    • Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities and areas for financial improvement.
