Job Title: Safety Coordinator - OSHA 30
Location: REMOTE Virginia (Projects to be in Danville & Farnham, VA)
Must be willing to travel - 75% of time will be spent directly on project sites. Covering projects across Virginia.
Salary: $95-110K
Position Description
This position requires a strong safety background, attention to detail, combined with a proven track record of safety excellence.
- Primary role will be to serve as a field environmental health and safety representative and point of contact for projects within a regional territory.
- Fairly and consistently enforce all company environmental, health and safety policies.
- Conduct routine worksite safety inspections and intervene in all unsafe activities or conditions.
- Perform hazard identification and risk assessments and recommend appropriate engineering and/or administrative/procedural controls.
- Participate in project planning activities and assist in the development of site-specific Environmental Health and Safety Plans.
- Assist in the development and implementation of environmental, health and safety-related standards and work procedures, and monitor their application and effectiveness.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Applied Sciences, Safety Engineering, Environmental Sciences or similar.
- 1-3 years of professional environmental, health and safety experience in the Utility/Civil Construction Industry.
- CHST, CUSP or similar is a plus.
- Background in ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, or ANSI Z10-2012 is a plus.
- Certified First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor is a plus.
- Must possess knowledge of OSHA Standards for the Construction Industry, U.S. DOT, and MUTCD Standards.
- The successful candidate will require an acceptable driving record.
