On-Call position - while this status does not include benefits, we will offer premium pay. Temp/On-call employees always welcomed to consider full or part-time opportunities which will include benefits, pjus more.

Summary : The Histology Technologist is responsible for performing all routine procedures in orienting, sectioning, and staining tissue specimens to produce slides which will aide pathologists in diagnosis. and will work in team focus environment to achieve common goals and meet deadlines to provide quality care to clients and patients.

You will:

• Embed, cut, and stain tissue blocks according to designated procedures
• Perform advanced staining
• Prepare reagents and stains according to designated procedures
• Submit derms and one-steppers
• Maintain knowledge of current CAP requirements
• Maintain equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed
• Perform or assist with validation studies
• Assist in operational oversight
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Education:Bachelor degree required, BS, preferred
• Certifications: HT or HTL ASCP certified, required
• Two years of laboratory experience
• Knowledge in medical terminology
