Landmark Builders Inc. offers general construction, design/build services, construction management, and Special Projects services throughout the Carolinas, Georgia, and Virginia. Broad classification including but not limited to the duties associated with the Special Projects Field Crew performing work as a carpenter, general laborer, and concrete finisher. Required activities and conditions would include but not be limited to the following:
- Standing on a hard surface for long durations
- Working on uneven surfaces
- Kneeling on hard and/or uneven surfaces
- Lifting loads possibly exceeding 100 lbs. such as bagged materials, rebar, steel, personnel doors, dimensional lumber, etc.
- Repetitive lifting
- Repetitive motions: especially with the upper body, such as using a hammer or finishing concrete with a hand trowel.
- Bending from the waist while applying pressure to your back, such as raking and shoveling stone or concrete
- Climbing ladders and stairs numerous times
- Exposure to hot and cold environments
- Working with your hands and upper arms extended above your head.
- Operating hand tools such as hammer drills, quickie saws, power washers, screw guns, circular saws, nail guns, etc.
- Working on elevated surfaces such as structural steel, floor decking, roof decking (both horizontal and sloped), etc.
- Be capable of “Looking After” supervising projects as needed in the absence of the superintendent.
- “On-Time” arrival at the jobsite each workday morning ( First One In)
- Verify that the jobsite is clean and secure at the end of each day ( Last One Out).
- Check, monitor, and respond to emails throughout the day if required.
- Continual observance of construction activities, for correctness and the overall quality of the work per the contract documents, and the refusal of sub-standard workmanship.
- Being a courteous and knowledgeable liaison to Owners, inspectors, and other visitors to the jobsite
- Safety must be the number one priority.
- Be required to be trained in Standard First Aid and keep cards up to date.
- Be accountable and responsible for implementing Landmark Builder’s Safety Program
- See that all injuries are treated and reported to Landmark Builders Safety Officer
- Ensure all personnel are using personal protective equipment.
- Assist in holding all subcontractors accountable for adhering to Safety Policy
- An understanding of layout procedures and the ability to determine if layouts are correct.
- Proactive and consistent evaluation of the work and encouragement to all on the project to always provide quality workmanship.
- Installing wood blocking
- General cleanup
- Installing door hardware
- Installing hollow metal frames
- Installing Toilet Partitions
- Place concrete for: sidewalks, dock leveler bases, equipment pads, piers, etc.
- Install flashing.
- Install misc. safety devices / rails.
- Unload various building materials.
- With proper instruction operate equipment—Lulls, uniloaders/bobcats, lifts, etc.
- Demolition as dictated by Landmarks scope of work.
- The use of hammer drills for installing dowels, expansion bolts, light demo, etc.
- Concrete demo using a jackhammer.
- Using a quickie saw: cutting rebar, misc. steel, concrete, block, etc.
- Assisting subcontractors with their scope of work
