Job Summary

The SOT specialist serves as a leader for the department in their specialty area of practice through organizing and executing appropriate departmental initiatives, assisting with quality initiatives and practice development in the SOT service lines, and providing education and teaching for pharmacy colleagues, providers, patients, and trainees at all levels of practice. Day-to-day activities include rounding on the inpatient SOT service as well as ambulatory pharmacy services in the SOT Clinics; evaluating, monitoring, and modifying drug therapy to optimize patient outcomes and safety; and precepting pharmacy residents and/or students.

Working Conditions

Work is performed primarily in William P Clements University Hospital, Zale Lipshy University Hospital or UTSW Ambulatory Clinics.

Security

Any qualifications to be considered as equivalents in lieu of stated minimum require prior approval of Vice President for Human Resources Administration or his/her designee.

This position is security-sensitive and subject to Texas Education Code §51.215, which authorizes UT Southwestern to obtain criminal history record information.
