We are on the lookout for a motivated and skilled Senior Buyer to join our team in Portsmouth, NH, USA.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Buyer specializing in New Product Introduction (NPI) and Tactical, you will play a pivotal role in the exciting process of bringing cutting-edge products to life. Working closely with Design Engineers and cross-functional teams, you will be the primary liaison between our company and suppliers during the NPI process.

Responsibilities:

Source potential suppliers based on project scope and budget, fostering strong relationships.
Assess vendor capabilities, negotiate pricing, and make strategic purchasing decisions for inventory, prototype materials, tooling, and services.
Create and manage purchase orders, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement.
Evaluate supplier quotes, identify cost-saving opportunities, and address quality concerns.
Collaborate with Planning and Production Buyers to ensure a smooth transition from development to production.
Stay updated on changes in the supply base, communicating potential impacts on supply and pricing.
Requirements:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
10+ years of experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment, with 5+ years in an NPI role.
Practical manufacturing machining experience is a plus.
Proven track record working with international suppliers.
Ability to read and understand Engineering Drawings.
Familiarity with ERP systems, Oracle EBS, and Agile preferred.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Working Conditions:

75% sitting position, occasional travel (10-25%), and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas.
