Position Overview:
The Senior Vice President of Corporate Development (transactions) is responsible for originating and executing inorganic growth transactions (M&A, JV, strategic investment, and other related transactions) across Mitsubishi HC Capital America, Inc. (MHCA). Further, this role will be instrumental in driving the identification, evaluation, and implementation of corporate development initiatives, as MHCA seeks to achieve its strategic growth objectives.
This individual will also be responsible for working cross functionally with business leadership to execute and integrate inorganic transactions.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (List in order of time spent) - Identify and create corporate development deal opportunities (M&A, alliance, JV, etc.)
- Opportunity Ideation
- Inorganic opportunity identification and prioritization
- Strategic investments/equity
- Innovation Fund investments
- Leverage industry relationships and market knowledge to originate corporate development opportunities, e.g., Internal referrals, I-banks, Direct
- Manage origination deal flow and support strategic relationships
- Manage and execute transactions, i.e., LOI, due diligence, negotiation, closing, and Integration
- Manage strategic programs with third-parties form early-stage development through transition to business
- Manage 3rd party advisors engaged on corporate development initiatives.
Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - Significant M&A, strategic alliance, and/or joint venture origination, execution, and integration experience, ideally in a corporate development context
- Knowledge of commercial equipment finance, structured/project finance, asset-based lending/receivables lending, and inventory finance
- Well versed in tools and practices used in business opportunity research and analysis
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, including ability to develop strategic frameworks to facilitate decision-making around complex opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to senior management
- Strong project management skills, with ability to lead large cross functional teams in pursuit of common goal
- Adept at identifying, evaluating, and completing strategic transactions, including ability to describe and negotiate complex financial structures with counterparties.
Education and Experience: - 15+ years of experience in the Commercial/Specialty Finance industry working in a corporate development or M&A capacity
- Investment banking or transaction advisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree (Finance, Economics, Business, or related field)
- MBA or CFA
Licensing and Certification: Working Hours: - Hours may vary and will require evening work depending on business needs and will require working overtime.
Tools and Equipment Used: - Personal computer, phone, and other typical office equipment
Travel: Physical Demands: - Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment
- Light lifting and carrying of supplies, files, etc.
- Ability to speak to and hear customers and/or other employees via phone or in person
- Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move from one office location to another

Salary Range: ($244,500 to $287,100) per year, plus a discretionary Bonus.
The salary range is determined and based on internal equity, market data/ranges, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, and education.
