As the Director of Information Security , you will play a pivotal role in supporting and assisting the Coorporate Compliance & Privacy Officer and the Chief Information Officer/VP in overseeing and managing all aspects of our organization's information security program. This includes establishing and maintaining a strong cybersecurity framework, implementing and enforcing policies and procedures, and driving continuous improvement in our security posture. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all security-related matters, providing strategic guidance and working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the protection of our sensitive data and digital assets.

The Director of Information Security is responsible for: 

• Information Technology security standards across all technology domains, including HIPAA rules and regulations regarding transactions, code sets, privacy, security and applying these to ensure the organization is compliant and audit ready at all times.
• Responsible for disaster recovery definition including execution of processes, both internally and externally as well as coordination and execution of disaster recovery procedures.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive information security strategy aligned with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and enforce robust security policies, standards, and guidelines throughout the organization.
• Lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Manage and oversee security incident response activities, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication.
• Conduct regular security audits, assessments, and penetration testing to identify areas for improvement and maintain a proactive security stance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the integration of security controls and practices into all aspects of the business.
• Stay current with emerging security threats, trends, and technologies, and recommend appropriate countermeasures and solutions.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to the information security team, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.

Reports to:

• Coorporate Compliance & Privacy Officer 

Supervises:

• IT/Application Analyst(s)

Education:

• Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Business Administration or related field.

Experience:

• Minimum of Seven (7) years experience in Information Technology including Disaster Recovery, HIPAA and/or Compliance Coordinator.
• Must have a minimum of three (3) years experience in management and strategic experience in IT.
• Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Healthcare experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with medical based applications and technology, system development cycles, and system deployment methods preferred.

Certification/License/Registry:

• Required: None.
• Preferred: Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification or related certification.
