As a Senior Network Engineer, you will contribute to REI’s success by helping lead the architecture, design, development and implementation of enterprise-wide network infrastructure plans. You will evaluate new network technologies and topologies to meet current and projected business needs. You will assess the costs and benefits of proposed and existing Wide Area Network (WAN) services, Internet services and voice services covering 190 remote sites globally, 3 data centers, 4 distribution centers, and an ever-growing Cloud footprint.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
• Lead enterprise-wide projects in relation to design and provisioning of network infrastructure and security components.
• Participate in strategy definition and execution for enterprise network segmentation to address high risk environments such as public facing cloud applications or backend systems and IoT.
• Participate in the definition of the technology roadmap for network security components such as firewalls, network access control, central policy management, and VPN services. Including emerging technologies, vendor selection, and engineering validation in labs.
• Translate business requirements by designing, implementing, and managing firewall policy based on internal standards as well as industry best practices.
• Resolve escalations for unique and complex technical problems that operational teams are unable to solve.
• Conduct complex incident management and problem resolution for network systems.
• Monitor network logs and perform corrective actions accordingly.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent training and experience.
• 5+ years engineering experience or equivalent industry knowledge.
• Experience in networking field at a large enterprise scale including WAN, LAN, data center and cloud environments.
• Hands on experience with the Palo Alto and Fortinet firewall management.
• Proven expertise designing and supporting SD-WAN services in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to participate in on-call rotation for a 24x7 support.
• Hands-on with Aruba ClearPass network authentication service (NAC) engines.
• Experience with network automation tools such as Ansible, scripting using Terraform, Python, or other tools for automating changes on network/security devices at scale.
• Cloud automation and security including terraform.
• Wireless network design, support and troubleshooting.
• TCP/IP Stack
• Routing including BGP, OSPF, VXLAN
• Client and site-to-site vpn configuration/management experience
• DNS/DHCP troubleshooting
• Technical knowledge in a variety of IT infrastructure areas, ideally for a Retail company
• Strong leadership and communication skills along with the ability to collaborate across all groups and levels
• Ability to interface and coordinate work efficiently and effectively with business partners or vendors
