runDisney is a dynamic and continually evolving business with outstanding complexities and opportunities. As the runDisney Manager - Sports Events, you will lead a team of professionals in the coordination, planning, and execution of the runDisney Health & Fitness Expo and all ancillary events, including but not limited to, Club runDisney membership activations, race anniversary celebrations, yoga, and race weekend park buy-outs. This role partners and provides event expertise to runDisney Business Development and Event Management on potential growth opportunities. You will identify and implement continuous improvements and innovation related to premium experiences while maintaining Disney and health and fitness theming. This position will report to the runDisney Sr Manager – Events & Services.
Run the day-to-day budgets related to all ancillary events and the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo, as well as partner with Leadership to build long term planning goals
Collaborate with internal and external teams to implement new processes and remove barriers for your team (i.e., Sports Complex Partners, IE, runDisney Partners, Park Integration Partners, DEG, Entertainment, etc.)
Provide creative direction for the Heath & Fitness Expos as well as all ancillary events
Handle the artwork approval process related to each runDisney Event Weekend
Partner with runDisney Business Development to build P&Ls and determine viability of new revenue generating offerings
Implement the runDisney Health and Fitness Expo and any ancillary events for Race Weekend
Lead race weekend communication related to ancillary events and Health and Fitness Expo
At least 5 years of Leadership experience
Disney operational knowledge or experience navigating within the company
Hold a U.S. valid Driver’s License
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Previous experience with confidential information
Strategic thinker and creative problem solver, with attention to detail
Dedication to promote an inclusive work environment that supports workforce diversity
Able to develop positive relationships with team members and clients`
Capability to communicate across teams and levels ensuring everyone understands updates, priorities, and appropriate course of escalation to drive results
Proficiency in basic computer functions necessary to operate in a Windows environment and other technologies
Schedule availability may include weekends, variable shifts, and holidays
At least 2 years of Leaderships experience leading salaried direct reports
At least 3 years of Leadership experience in Event Operations or Event Management
Knowledge of runDisney Operations
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
