Job description
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting in managing the implementation of department programs, the research and development of programs, grant writing and ensuring that staff meet and accomplish the tasks and objectives of the specific program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists in the management of the program by tracking achievements of contractual obligations, Reporting program achievements, and devising corrective actions, as needed.
- Supervises assigned staff to ensure specific program standards are maintained and that excellent customer service is consistently provided.
- Review files regularly to ensure that all contract requirements for documentation of services and progress are correctly maintained and kept up to date.
- Assists in the development of marketing strategies and conducts research for program development.
- Provides support to assigned staff to assure that partners and members of the community have access to services.
- Develops and maintains excellent working relationships with funding sources, partners, and other agencies to ensure that C-SET is provided the necessary support to meet its objectives and that C-SET participants are afforded the services necessary for their success.
- Assists in the development and maintenance of systems needed to manage the department effectively.
- Prepares reports on services and activities including progress reports for funding sources.
- Assist in staff development and handling of personnel issues.
- Assist with the facilitation of monthly staff meetings and participate in leadership meetings.
- Expand resource network by collaborating with other organizations and individuals.
- Performs other related duties as may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position reports to the assigned Department Director and is a member of the CSET Leadership Team. This position is responsible for the day-to-day activities as well as program management.

- Knowledge of the principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation process.
- Excellent organizational skills are required.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to get along and work effectively with co-workers and members of the public.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Master's preferred or Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university with 5 years experience in Social Work; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond effectively to inquiries and complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, and members of the business community.
- Ability to write proposals and effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply mathematical concepts to assist in the creation and interpretation of budgetary information.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver's license and proof of auto insurance is required.
