The Office of Statewide Pretrial Services’ (OSPS) is establishing a 24/7 operations center located in Springfield Illinois. The operations center will conduct investigations into the criminal history of newly arrested defendants and oversee the electronic monitoring of pretrial defendants. OSPS is looking to hire 4 supervisors and 12 officers to staff the electronic monitoring unit within the operations center.
ELECTRONIC MONITORING OFFICER:
The Electronic Monitoring Officer is an advanced pretrial position within the Centralized Operations Section. This position oversees electronic monitoring of pretrial defendants and conducts criminal history investigations. The Electronic Monitoring Officer works under the general direction of a supervisor within the Division of Pretrial Operations. The essential functions of this position include:
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
1. A Bachelor’s Degree.
2. Ability to be LEADS certified.
3. A valid Illinois Driver’s License and proof of automobile insurance to operate a personal vehicle on state business, as well as maintain a safe driving record.
4. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (i.e., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or a social services related field.
2. Three or more years of professional working experience in a public or private organization.
3. One or more years of experience working with criminal justice electronic monitoring systems.
4. Current certification as a LEADS operator.
5. Master’s Degree.
Physical Requirements
1. Ability to sit for extended time periods.
2. Professional office working environment requiring telephone usage and ability to process written documents.
3. Ability to travel, including overnight stays, mostly within Illinois as required.

ABOUT OSPS:
OSPS’ mission is to assist in the administration of justice and promote community safety by ensuring fairness and equality in the pretrial process. The OSPS is a statewide office that provides pretrial services to defendants, including the preparation of pretrial investigation reports and supervision of defendants as ordered by the court.
