Job Description:
Reynolds Family Winery is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our team and contribute to the continued success of our winery. The ideal candidate will have a passion for wine, a deep understanding of the hospitality industry, and the ability to manage various aspects of our operations. This leadership role requires a strategic thinker who can enhance the winery's reputation, drive business growth, and ensure a seamless and memorable experience for our visitors. The General Manager position at Reynolds Family Winery must be able to "wear many hats."
Job Duties include but are not limited to:
• Represent the Reynolds Family and the Estate respectfully and knowledgeably
• Back-up for our tasting room - pour flights, open wine bottles, and give table-side service in a timely, efficient manner
• Emailing customers / dealing with complaints / managing our info@ email address
• Take orders accurately and stay organized
• Managing tasting room calendar and staffing
• Proficient in Commerce7
• Answering phone
• Generating shipping labels via FedEx, GLS and UPS
• Manage inventory of all RFW finished goods locations
• Payroll for all RFW employees via Paychex
• Party Planning! - Must be able to plan events, order supplies, and handle all rentals
• Help with trip planning for national sales work
• Re-ordering merchandise, winery supplies, and tasting room supplies
• Able to assist with events, parties, and wine club parties on occasional weekends
• Advise on business strategy and growth
• Generate reports quarterly - sales / inventory / wine club
Other Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute short-term and long-term strategies to achieve business goals, enhance brand image, and drive revenue growth.
Operational Management: Oversee day-to-day winery operations, event coordination, inventory control, and customer relations.
Financial Oversight: Help manage budgeting, financial planning, and reporting. Analyze financial performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue generation.
Wine Club Management: Develop and maintain relationships with wine club members. Implement strategies to grow the wine club and enhance member satisfaction.
Sales and Marketing: Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective sales and marketing initiatives. Explore new markets and promotional opportunities to expand brand reach.
Hospitality and Customer Experience: Ensure a high level of customer service is maintained in the tasting room and during winery events. Foster a welcoming and engaging atmosphere for visitors.
Staff Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of passionate individuals. Provide training, set performance expectations, and promote a positive work culture.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about industry regulations and ensure the winery complies with all legal requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality, Viticulture, or related field. MBA or equivalent experience is a plus.
Proven experience in winery management, preferably in Napa Valley or a similar wine region.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
Knowledge of wine production processes and an appreciation for quality wines.
Familiarity with local and state liquor laws and regulations.
Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed.
