GENERAL SUMMARY

Nature's Sunshine is seeking a Product Development Scientist that oversees product development and maintains organizational needs. This person needs to work well with people throughout the organization and cross-functional teams to capitalize on product categories. The ideal candidate ensures products and communications meet the needs of the country teams and supports marketing strategies in their product plan. Nature's Sunshine is known for its quality products and needs someone who provides new opportunities through ingredients and formulations. This person should be detail oriented and will be supporting the products and teams with proper documentation including ingredient specifications, finished product specifications, certificates of analysis, and technical data for ingredients and finished products. Quality is of upmost importance, and we are equally obsessed in ensuring all products are scientifically supported.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees complex projects from start to finish.
• Coordinating with all stakeholders on projects and assigned tasks.
• Ensures product communications and claims are scientifically substantiated.
• Ensures product formulation delivers on critical concept and program requirements.
• Performs product development and relevant disciplines.
• Ensures that department milestones and goals are met.
• Makes recommendations for best in practice team-based processes.
• Providing advice on product development options available to the organization.
• Coordinating resource across team disciplines and aligns with the project management process.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• MS Office applications - primarily Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
• Strong attention to details. Analytical. Highly organized. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal). Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to interact with cross functional teams effectively and maintain accountability.
• Ability to run agreed upon project plans and execute them with limited supervision.

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in a related area
