SALARY: MA-613/ $35,734 - $70,117 annually

POSITION DESCRIPTION :
Responsible for the entry of cadet testing in the Cadet Tracker. Responsible for updating cadet core component completions for instructors in the Cadet Tracker. Responsible for managing, creating, updating, and mailing out letters to local parish school boards and schools on cadet enrollments. Responsible for creating and mailing out HiSET letters to school boards on those cadets who pass the HiSET. Responsible for inputting ACT scores, ASVAB scores, HiSET scores, and other pertinent information into the Cadet Tracker. Responsible/Assisting with registration for HiSET Testing, Dual Enrollment, Course Choice/Credit Recover, and any other educational enrollment. Responsible for answering all incoming calls to the schoolhouse and transferring calls or taking messages as necessary. Responsible for communicating with Counseling Department, Post Res Department, and Cadre Department when a cadet has an appointment or when cadet is moving from one department to the next. Assists with the preparation of letters to include Verification of Enrollment/Verification of Drop from the program as requested by parents/cadets/outside agencies. Assists with gathering data and recommendations from the instructors for JAG, JCP, and scholarship selections. Responsible for creating, gathering data, and mailing out progress reports to parents of cadets on a monthly basis. Will help with Family Day responsibilities of the education department. Will help with all activities pertaining to graduation ceremonies that are required by education department. Will assist with working on securing graduation supplies to include scrolls, ropes, cap and gowns, and awards. Responsible for building initial folders for cadets enrolled into the program prior to the start of education classes. Will maintain individual cadet folders throughout the cycle to ensure all data is up to date on cadet accomplishments and tasks. Assures all cadet educational documents are assessable, accounted for, and locked up to include filing all documents for the required amount of time per state law. Assists with office filing. Will assist covering down on a class in the absence of a teacher being out. Assists with greeting visitors and notifies lead instructor of the presence of a guest. Responsible for providing supervision of cadets while they are in the lobby. Distributes mail/disciplinary write-ups and any other correspondence to departments that need the info. Will assist in managing all safety requirements for all education buildings to include turning in reports to LMD Safety Office. Will assist with in-take day, locator testing setup and administration, TABE test distribution, and coordination outside education entities. Manages all office machines. Apply computer and related technologies to support the Education Department. Prepares and maintains telephone directory for the Education Department. Maintains supply inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipate needed supplies; place orders for supplies, verifies receipt of supplies. Work hours occasionally exceed 40 hours per week. Must be able to work with others. Must be able to have verbal contact with others. Perform other duties as assigned.



POSITION QUALIFICATIONS :
Associate degree Preferred. Additional certifications, licenses, and trainings are favorable.
Abilities should be considered above average, and not limited to a basic understanding of word processing programs. Technological proficiency is required. Must possess good communication skills both written and oral.
Must be organized and able to work with minimal supervision. Must have computer knowledge and able to operate standard office machines.



GENERAL : Must have a valid Driver’s License, Social Security Card and Birth Certificate. Must qualify to obtain a Department of Defense Common Access Card (CAC) Card. Periodic travel may be required. Must be available to report to duty during emergency or disaster situations. Must have the ability to work and communicate effectively with agency personnel, peers, superiors, subordinates and the public.



OTHER REQUIREMENTS : Must meet physical requirements to perform functions of the position. Must attend/complete all LMD annual training and other training required for the position. Must adhere to the Code of Ethics and foster a Sexual Harassment-Free Environment.
