Job Description: Full Time Faculty, Business Department Division of STEM & Business MCCC/MTA Unit Position SALARY: Anticipated starting salary is $47,620.00 - $51,532.00. Actual salary will be commensurate with education and experience in accordance with the MCCC/MTA collective bargaining agreement. Full time benefited employees at North Shore Community College are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package offered through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: This is a full-time, tenure track faculty position in the Business Department. The faculty member will participate in the teaching, effective delivery and further development/enhancement of the departmental offerings, with emphases on Digital Marketing and Accounting.
The successful candidate must have the ability to relate to a student population that is highly diverse and may come from historically marginalized populations. Candidate must be willing to travel between Lynn and Danvers campuses as needed to fulfill instructional and non-instructional workload.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Teach up to five courses or fifteen credits each semester, in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Participate in initiatives related to departmental planning, curriculum development/enhancements, program planning/implementation, and student recruitment/retention.
- Participate in ongoing assessment and evaluation of student learning and program outcomes.
- Provide academic and career advising to traditional and non-traditional students
- Participate in college service activities in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Assist in determining appropriate goals/objectives and outcomes for the various courses in the Marketing curriculum.
- Utilize new technologies and methodologies in the classroom, as appropriate, to facilitate and support a student-centered learning environment and support student advising.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to maintain expertise/currency in the field and to infuse new methodologies and content into departmental offerings.
- Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
Requirements: - MBA or Master's Degree or higher in a Business-related field required. Applicants with other advanced degree(s) and extensive related work experience may be considered.
- Must be qualified to teach a variety of Digital Marketing, accounting, and general business courses.
- Three years of college-level teaching experience required; community college teaching preferred.
- Must have demonstrated proficiency in utilizing business and marketing software packages, in addition to social media technology.
- Experience with the use of smart-classroom technology, distance learning, and on-line delivery of instruction
- Effective oral and written communication skills as well as strong interpersonal skills required.
- Commitment to the academic and career growth of historically minoritized student populations
- Successful passing of a CORI/SORI and/or National Background Check as a condition of employment.
