Teacher Education Position Announcement LECTURER/SUPERVISOR (Credential Program: English Language Arts in K-12 Education) 2023-24 Position Overview: A reasonable estimate for this position is $66,259 - $86,453.
The School of Education at the University of California, Davis invites applications for the position of English Language Arts Lecturer/ Supervisor of Teacher Education in the Single Subjects program. This is a non-tenure track yearly percentage appointment with potential for renewal on a year by year basis. Compensation will be contingent on the number of courses and supervision students assigned. The salary is commensurate with education and experience. Appointment begins Summer of 2024.
Successful candidates will (1) possess appropriate academic preparation and professional experience to teach undergraduate/graduate curriculum and instruction courses in our Teacher Education program, (2) supervise student teachers in middle/secondary schools for the credential/MA program, (3) have knowledge of and experience with teaching/learning issues and current school contexts in California public schools, and (4) have disciplinary knowledge of and experience with teaching/providing learning experiences for ELA teachers.

Responsibilities include:
The candidate will:
- teach Teacher Education Program (TEP) credential/MA courses (teaching schedule may include day, afternoon, and evening courses);
- supervise TEP student teachers in linguistically and culturally diverse classroom placements at middle or secondary public schools;
- Meet regularly with TEP students acting in a mentorship and advisory role;
- coordinate between TEP coursework and practicum activities for TEP students and school district Resident Teachers;
- work in consultation with school district personnel and Resident Teachers to identify classroom placements, promote growth in clinical teaching practice, and resolve problems;
- develop and maintain relationships between the university and school districts;
- participate in regular TEP faculty meetings, programmatic planning meetings, curriculum development efforts, and program and student evaluation activities;
- perform TEP admissions duties, including recruiting students, evaluating potential students, and admitting students to the TE program;
- participate in TEP committee work;
