Job Description:
The Engineering Manager performs civil engineering and project management helping to lead and develop engineering staff. The civil engineer in this position regularly works as a part of a team and may lead a small project team as project manager. Work is commonly associated with the development of commercial industrial and multifamily sites working with staff external consultants and clients to deliver projects. The end product/deliverable for the Project Engineer is typically a civil engineering set of construction plans for site work that is approved and permitted by local regulatory agencies. The projects will consist of feasibility studies and development in urban suburban and rural areas and involve coordination with and approval from multiple jurisdictions and agencies in the greater Houston metro area. As such the project engineer is responsible for leading designs that incorporate a wide array of grading drainage and utility solutions. In the role of project manager the Project Engineer identifies risks plans and leads project execution establishes project budget provides mentorship and training to junior staff and provides expert assistance with design efforts when appropriate. The Project Engineer may report status directly to Clients.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in STEM field that meets TBPELS requirements for licensure as a Professional Engineer (Civil Engineering major preferred).
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas or ability to obtain licensure within twelve (12) months of start of employment. If licensed in another state the ability to obtain licensure in Texas within six (6) months of start of employment.
- 620 years of relevant work experience in the field of civil engineering with at least one (1) year of relevant work experience performing civil engineering for commercial industrial or multifamily sites.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Texas or ability to obtain licensure within twelve (12) months of start of employment. If licensed in another state, the ability to obtain licensure in Texas within six (6) months of start of employment.
