Job description
Our busy construction company is seeking an organized problem-solver to join our team as our Construction Bookkeeper. Our ideal candidate will have experience with full-charge bookkeeping, in the construction industry. They will help our team ensure budgets, timelines, and job costs are accurate and oversee all financial transactions for the company, including accounts payable and receivables, and bank reconciliation. Responsibilities:
- Assure costs, timeline, and budget of construction projects are accurately forecasted, by providing detailed financial reporting to the general contractor or project manager
- Resolve any invoice issues, and process invoices, checks, and payroll accurately and on-time
- Be responsible for the accuracy of the general ledger, and journal entries, and prepare balance sheets and financial reports for review
- Oversee all financial transactions, such as credit card and bank reconciliations, and manage the accounts payables and accounts receivables process
- Implement extensive data entry to ensure all financial data is input into accounting software
- Ensure accurate financial records, contracts, tax reports, annual budgets, and financial statements are up to date
- Assist with office projects from time to time – providing specific bookkeeping support, research, or hands-on tasks
- Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested
- Monitor office supply levels and reorder as necessary
- Answering phones and in-person inquiries with regard to vendors
- Mail deliveries and bank deposits
Qualifications:
- High school diploma is required - associate’s degree in accounting, or business, or related field is preferred
- Excellent problem solving, analytical, organization and communication skills are needed
- 5 years of experience in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping experience in the construction industry
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, Excel, and accounting software, such as QuickBooks
- Understanding of construction accounting concepts, tax strategies, and best practices
