Job description
We are currently hiring a fulltime onsite Speech Language Pathologist to service a schoolbased caseload. This position will begin ASAP through May 2024.
Are you passionate about helping children The Speech Therapist s responsibilities include preforming patient assessment developing individual treatment plans liaising with teachers family members and other healthcare professionals administering therapy and monitoring progress and ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy techniques.
The SLP will be required to formulate Individual Education Plans for each student on their caseload and maintain report cards. The SLP will also be required to attend IEP meetings to collaborate with parents and other members of staff.
Other Assignment Duties include:
Performs appropriate initial speech therapy evaluations and designs a speech therapy plan of care based on the results of the initial assessment.
Designs the treatment plan appropriate for the patient s age educational level and cultural background.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of diagnoses/conditions seen in speech therapy.
Selects performs and interprets the results of ST examinations of speech/language cognition communication oral motor voice and swallowing.
Identifies actual or potential problems that would impact the ST treatment plan as well as the overall patient plan of care
Interacts regularly with others involved in the patient s care to incorporate an interdisciplinary treatment approach for coordinated quality care
Reassesses patient status in response to treatment and goal achievement redefines problems and modifies goals and treatments as indicated
Completes detailed and accurate documentation promptly to ensure accurate billing and continuation of care
Masters Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders
CFYs are encouraged to apply and will be considered (supervisor provided)
Must have the ability to apply for a SLP license in the state of Illinois; license reimbursement available.
Must hold or be eligible to apply for an ASHA certification
PEL certification required before the beginning of the assignment
