About this role
UHSM is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to administer, maintain, and automate across our systems. The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for providing technical support to users, managing and maintaining the organization’s computer systems, networks, and troubleshooting hardware and software issues. This role will work closely with the Lead Systems Engineer and Director of Technology to support employee’s connectivity in the office and remote.
**This is a full-time role in-office days on Monday - Friday. 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM.**
Key Responsibilities
- Acting as the first line of defense for all technical support requests
- Maintain HIPAA/HITECH compliance requirements across systems
- Manage and keep helpdesk ticketing system organized and prioritized
- Utilize Jira to manage and track IT projects and tasks
- Install, update, and decommission software and applications as needed
- Provide excellent customer focus to the team – from timely updates on ticket status with accurate estimates, to hands on troubleshooting
- Assist with the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures
- Configure and manage Cisco Meraki networking equipment, including switches, routers, and access points
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Cisco Meraki networking equipment
- Provide ongoing analysis of the environment to detect deficiencies and security vulnerabilities and recommend solutions for improvement – in line with HIPAA regulations
- Handle or assist in equipment moves, deployment, and equipment tracking
- Reimaging and redeploying Windows workstations as needed
- Assist in the process of onboarding and offboarding employees
- Research and recommend new technologies to improve the organization's IT infrastructure
- Train and support users on new software and hardware
- Support users in the use of Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, and Sharepoint
- Troubleshoot issues related to VOIP technologies related to Five9 or similar telephony systems

Minimum Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in IT support, supporting on-site and remote users
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of working in the Healthcare industry
- A+ Certification and/or Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)
- Working knowledge of Azure
- Experience with VOIP technologies such as Five9 or similar telephony systems
- Familiarity with working in Cloud environments
- Familiarity with agile development practices – Jira experience
- Strong communication skills, with proven ability to identify solutions and quickly summarize recommendations and options
- Collaborative and proactive with a can-do attitude
- Take direction, meet deadlines, and work efficiently in a hybrid environment
