Job description
The Digital Media Specialist is responsible for the daily operations of the Public Media Relations Department, which may include developing social media promotions and activities, and liaison with departments and agencies. The employee will create and maintain Osceola County Sheriff’s Office social media profiles. The employee will perform all duties listed below and any other assigned duties.
Requirements:
- Must have an Associate Degree
- Must have at least two years of experience in digital marketing and social media.
- Must be very familiar with the business platforms of the social media sites and can interpret metrics into actionable social media campaign results (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, Google Analytics, etc.).
- Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video) in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of project management and web design best practices a plus.
- Knowledge of online marketing channels.
- Required to work 40 hours per week but must be able to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended periods on an as-needed basis.
- Must be able to work in an internal environment but may be required to work in an external environment occasionally.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite Software. (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere)
- Must be able to type 25 WPM at 90% accuracy.
- Ability to deliver creative content (text, image, and video).
- Knowledge of project management and web design best practices.
- Knowledge of online marketing channels.
- Must be able to use a DSLR Camera for professional-quality photos.
- Must possess initiative and be able to prioritize duties to meet deadlines.
- Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills.
- Web development concepts (PHP, HTML, CSS, etc.) and WordPress. (+)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher. (+)
