Chief Medical Officer for Busy Urgent Care System Job description Seeking an experienced Chief Medical Officer to join our team As the Chief Medical Officer you will oversee all aspects of the Urgent Care Center's daily operations You will serve as a liaison between staff and administration, ensure all healthcare regulations are upheld and implement new and innovative ways to improve the services we provide. The ideal candidate is an excellent leader with a deep understanding of clinical risk management and medical knowledge. Responsibilities Create and implement short and long-term success strategies for the Urgent Care Center's continued success Identify and address the clinic and team weaknesses Provide leadership and foster engagement of personnel Serve as a liaison between medical staff and administration Promote the Urgent Care Center's vision, mission, and company values Research and implement new approaches to improving patient care Evaluate, track, and report on company performance and goals Train mid level providers on current processes and procedures when necessary Look over physician assistants / NPs charts and charting standards Develop and maintain formulary of supplies and medicines Develop and maintain standing clinical orders for staff based on chief complaints Answer medical questions from staff and patients when needed Chart audits and reviews for mid-level practitioners Work jointly with the Clinical Directors to ensure smooth, cohesive operations amongst all medical services, ensuring the highest possible quality of patient care Develop and implement site medical policies and procedures Provide Medical direction and oversight of all site's medical operations Ensure that the clinical leadership team is properly vetting, training and orienting new providers about delivery of care, operations and expectations Ensuring all clinic workers are updated on changes in medical policies and procedures Seek ways to continually improve the site’s clinical services, ensuring that patients receive the best care possible. Being responsible for the performance of medical providers under your supervision Make sure the staff adheres to and follows all safety standards and site regulations Liaise between site administration and business administration for the organization Champion the delivery of quality care and top=tier customer service as a priority Development and implementation of policies, procedures, and daily medical operations Promote clinical excellence, exceptional patient care, compliance with regulatory guidelines Advise administrative team and medical staff in compliance with and preparation for reviews by state and federal governing bodies. Qualifications Minimum Requirements : Doctor of Medicine Degree (MD) + 12 years of experience in family practice, Emergency Medicine, or Internal Medicine, including 4 years of experience in a leadership role or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education Board certification in internal medicine or Emergency Medicine The candidate should possess a current state-issued license to practice medicine in the state TX. Current Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support certifications Preferred Qualifications : Understanding of primary care and urgent care Proven work experience as a Chief Medical Officer or similar role Clinical risk management experience Administrative experience Master of Business Administration (MBA) Superb organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional interpersonal abilities Leadership skills Analytic skills Attention to detail
